Since November 2024 RRBs have conducted CBTs for 1.86 crore candidates for 55,197 vacancies to recruit over 50,000 in 2025 26. More than 9,000 appointments were done in Q1.
Railway Recruitment Boards are official bodies conduct RRB recruitment exams for various jobs within Indian Railways. Since November 2024, RRBs have conducted Computer Based Tests for over 1.86 crore candidates. RRB exams were held under seven different recruitment notifications covering total of 55,197 vacancies. This recruitment drive is expected to result in more than 50,000 new appointments in financial year 2025-26. So far RRBs have already issued over 9,000 appointment letters in first quarter of this year.
RRB Recruitment Notifications
As per annual recruitment calendar released by Railway Recruitment Boards total of 12 notifications have been released since 2024 covering 1,08,324 vacancies across various posts in Indian Railways. Building on this momentum, RRBs are expected to offer over 50,000 additional appointments in upcoming financial year 2026-27.
RRBs Push for Fair, Secure, and Inclusive Recruitment Exams
Railway Recruitment Boards have recently taken several steps to make exam process easier and secure. Exam centres are now being allotted closer to candidates places of residence with special preference given to females and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Additionally, jammers are now being deployed at 100% of RRB exam centres to prevent use of electronic devices and eliminate any scope for cheating.
