UPSC civil services allocation list for a total of 644 candidates has been released. Check details below.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the service allocation list for candidates who have cleared the Civil Services Examination 2018. A total of 644 candidates have been allocated services such as IAS, IFS, IPS, Central Civil Services, Group-A and Group-B. It may be noted that a total of 759 candidates had qualified the personality test (the last phase of Civil Services Examination) out of which 644 candidates have been allocated services.

Out of the total number of allocated services, 177 are for Indian Administrative Services (IAS), 27 are for Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and 136 are for Indian Police Service (IPS). The remaining number of allocation has been done for services such as IRS (IT), IRS (C&CE), IA&AS, IDES, IP&TAFS, IRTS, IPoS, IRAS, IIS, ICAS, DANICS, IOFS, ICLS, DANIPS, IDAS, and AFHQ.

Kanishak Kataria had secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 for the service of IAS, followed by Akshat Jain and Junaid Ahmad who grabbed AIR 2 and 3, respectively.    

It may be noted that the service allocation list released by the UPSC is provisional. Therefore, candidates whose names have appeared in the UPSC service allocation list stand the chance of upgradation of the service. Regarding the same, the official notification reads, “The status of their service allocation is provisional because some candidates who are ranked higher in the order of merit list and whose candidature is not accepted/ cleared due to incomplete medical status or remain provisional on account of verification of certificates pertaining to educational qualification or due to pending verification of claims of various kinds of reservation.”
