SI Recruitment 2024 Scam: Paper Leak Allegations Lead to Silicon Tech Lab’s Termination by Odisha Govt
Odisha Government has terminated Silicon Tech Lab’s over paper leak allegations in SI recruitment exam held in 2024. Check notice here
In a significant administrative action, Electronics & IT Department of Odisha terminated Tier I empanelment of M/s Silicon Tech Lab Pvt. Ltd. after the firm was found to have committed a breach of its Service Agreement with the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and faced allegations of complicity in Police Sub-Inspector recruitment 2024 scam.
According to official notice, Silicon Tech Lab, an agency sub-contracted by ITI Limited for exam related responsibilities, illegally delegated confidential exam duties to Panchsoft Technologies, a firm allegedly controlled by scam kingpin Shankar Prusty. This unauthorized delegation is suspected to have facilitated the leak of question papers, triggering one of the year’s biggest recruitment controversies.
The case escalated further when Silicon Tech Lab’s CEO, Suresh Chandra Nayak, was arrested for allegedly giving shelter to Prusty during the early stages of the investigation. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken overprobe, which involves what officials describe as a multi-crore examination scam affecting the integrity of the SI recruitment process.
The Electronics & IT Department announced that the firm’s empanelment stands terminated with immediate effect, highlighting that such violations of contractual and ethical responsibilities would not be tolerated in government-linked recruitment processes. The CBI’s inquiry is ongoing.
