SSC released a notice regarding the Combined Higher Secondary Level CHSL 2019 skill test. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the details regarding the skill test scheduled to be conducted from November 3, 2021, onwards. The SSC CHSL skill test is the second last stage of the selection process. The candidates need to qualify the skill test as the marks secured in this phase in not added for the final merit.
SSC CHSL Skill Test 2019 Details
The SSC released the following details regarding the CHSL 2019 skill test.
- For the typing test, a text passage of around 1750 key depression in English and 1500 words in Hindi will be displayed on the screen.
- Candidates can type the equivalent number of words as given in the text passage
- A combination of alphanumeric keys followed by space is termed as one “Word”.
- The system will not allow typing more words than given in the master passage. It means that after typing the same number of words as given in the master text, the candidates will not be allowed to type any extra word.
- In case candidates type additional words/wrong words, exhausting the allowed number of words before completing the master text, then they may use arrow keys/backspace key to correct wrongly typed word(s) or remove additional typed word(s) before proceeding to complete the master text.
The most important point to note is that
- Candidates appearing for the English type test must select the English (US) format as the option for language.
- Candidates appearing for Hindi Typing Test should choose the Typing Test Keyboard Layout as Hindi Inscript, Hindi Krutidev, Hindi Remington GAIL, and Hindi Remington CBI.

The SSC CHSL Skill Test is followed by the Document Verification (DV) process. DV stage is the last stage of the SSC CHSL exam process. After the DV, the result will be declared. There are no marks allotted for the DV stage and the skill test. SSC CHSL exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the non-technical works in the Central Government ministries and departments.
