UPSC 2026 Notification Released @upsc.gov.in: Apply till February 24

Union Public Service Commission has released UPSC IAS 2026 notification today, February 4, 2026. There are 933 vacancies, including 33 for reserved persons with benchmark disability. There are 7 vacancies for persons with blindness and low vision, and 11 vacancies for deaf and hard-of-hearing candidates. There are 15 more vacancies reserved for people with some more disabilities. The last date to fill UPSC 2026 application form is February 24, 2026. UPSC will conduct the CSE (IAS) prelims exam 2026 on May 24.
The notification PDF contains crucial information, including eligibility criteria, pattern, eligibility, and vacancies. Union Public Service Commission need to take approval of Ministry of Personnel for proposing any changes to notification. UPSC IAS eligibility criteria includes Educational Qualification, Age limit, Number of Attempts, and Exemptions provided to reserved category candidates.
How to apply for UPSC IAS 2026
The application will be activated on official website. See below process to apply for UPSC IAS 2026:
- Visit official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in
- At right side corner, click on the Apply online link
- The new website is https://upsconline.nic.in/upsc/OTRP/index.php
- Candidates need to log in with their registration number and password
- Enter Photo Identity Card type, Photo Identity Card Number, and Examination Centre
- Next, upload the scanned images of photo identity proof, Photograph and signature
- Submit the application fee and submit the application for 2026.
The exam will have two papers, one General Studies Paper- I of 200 marks with 100 marks, and another General Studies Paper-II (Aptitude Test) of 200 marks and 80 questions. The exam is conducted offline and contains objective-type questions. There is a negative marking of one by three for each incorrect answer.
