UPTET Certificate now valid for lifetime, check details here

UPTET eligibility certificate is now valid for lifetime. Earlier, the UPTET certificate was valid for only 5 years.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has announced to make the eligibility certificate of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) valid for lifetime, as per the media reports. The UP government will soon issue a notification in this regard. Earlier, the UPTET certificate was valid for 5 years. 

With this, candidates who have qualified the UPTET exam once will not be required to appear for the exam again as the certificate will be valid for life. 

Importance of UPTET Certificate

The UPTET certificate is an important document that is required when the candidates apply for teacher recruitment in the state. Candidates who want to become classes 1 to 8 teachers necessarily need to produce this certificate to get recruited. The certificate can be obtained only after qualifying the UPTET exam. 

NCTE extends TET certificate validity for lifetime

Earlier on June 9, 2021, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) officially amended the TET Guidelines 2011 to extend the certificate validity of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to lifetime. The development came following the announcement of the Union Ministry of Education to extend the TET Certificate validity for life.
