UPTET exam unlikely to be held in 2020

With the year 2020 fast approaching towards its end, the chances are extremely high that Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) will not be conducted this year. UPTET notification is usually released in October every year. However, this year, there are no signs on the release of the notification yet.

As per Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, Secretary, Examination Controller, with the delay in the UPTET notification due to COVID-19 pandemic, it is not possible to conduct the exam this year, as the authorities need at least three months’ time for making all arrangements for the exam. The UPTET 2020 exam in probability will be conducted in 2021.

The UPTET exam as and when held will be conducted in offline mode for two papers. Candidates who plan to teach Classes 1-5 need to give paper-I and candidates to plan to teach Classes 6-8 need to appear for UPTET paper-II.

In UPTET paper-I, questions are asked from the following subjects:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I (Hindi)
  • Language-II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

In UPTET paper-II, questions are asked from the following subjects:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language-I (Hindi)
  • Language-II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)
  • Mathematics and Science or Social Studies
