Schools in Haryana is will be reopened from the second half of August, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that the schools in the state will open in the second half of August. The move comes soon after the Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had announced that schools and colleges will be allowed to re-open after August 15 in a phased manner.

Also as per the Haryana Chief Minister's announcement, the colleges will also be allowed to conduct exams for the last semester students after August 15.

Earlier, the state government was of the opinion to reopen schools in July itself. As per the initial schedule, the government of Haryana had decided to resume classes for standard 10th, 11th and 12th in July. This was to be followed by classes 6th to 9th and then the primary classes. Now as per the changed plan the schedule would be released soon for classes in August.

"The students in their final year of college will have to appear for their exams in July, while others will be promoted to the next classes on the basis of average marks obtained in their last semester,” the Chief Minister said.
