CBSE Class 12 Result 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the CBSE 12th Result in May 2024 on the official website- results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. The CBSE result 2024 for Class 12 will be released together for all streams- Science, Commerce and Arts. Students can check their CBSE 12th Result 2024 using their admit card number, roll number, and school number in the login window. The CBSE Board Exams 2024 Class 12 are being conducted between Feb 15 and April 2, 2024.

The CBSE Class 12 Result 2024 includes the student's name, roll number, date-of-birth, marks obtained in all subjects, grades, etc. Students can also check the CBSE Class 12 Result 2024 via DigiLocker and UMANG App. Students must note that the CBSE Results 2024 released online is provisional. They will be required to collect the original mark sheet from school.

A student must secure an overall 33% (both internal assessment and Class 12th Board examination taken together) in all the subjects to pass in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Result 2024.

Last year, the board released the CBSE Class 12 result on May 12, 2023.  The 12th board exams 2023 were held between February 15 and April 5, 2023.

How to Check CBSE Result class 12 2024 through IVRS

Once released, the Result of 12th Class 2024 CBSE can also be checked through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). The call would be charged at 30 paisa/minute for a single roll number. Students need to dial the number, 24300699, along with the code of their area preceding the given number.

How to check CBSE Class 12th Result 2024 through SMS

There is an option to get the CBSE result class 12 by sending an SMS from the registered number. The format which is to be followed for the SMS: “cbse12 (roll number) (date of birth) (school number) (Centre number) on the number 7738299899. The format of the date of birth should be DDMMYYYY. Students will then receive an SMS with a subject-wise list of their marks. They must secure the CBSE Class 12 Result 2024 for immediate reference.

CBSE Class 12th Exam Digital Marksheet through Digilocker

Students can also download their CBSE class 12 result 2024 in the form of digital marksheets via DigiLocker. Their DigiLocker account details are sent via SMS on the registered mobile number with CBSE.

Students will have to visit the official website of DigiLocker and register themselves, Subsequently, they must follow the steps mentioned below to obtain the Result of 12th Class 2024 CBSE:

  1. Log in using the Username and Password to the App
  2. Go to ‘Profile’ and sync the Aadhaar number, if the same hasn’t been done while signing up
  3. Click on ‘Pull Partner Documents 
  4. There will be two drop-down menus on the next screen

From the first one, select ‘Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi’

From the next one, select ‘Mark sheet (HSC/SSC)’, ‘Migration certificate’ or ‘Passing certificate’ etc

  1. Enter the required details, like the year of passing and roll number, into the next screen
  2. The Mark sheet/ Certificate for CBSE Result 2024 Class 12 will be downloaded. Students can save the document in DigiLocker account by clicking on the ‘Save to locker’ button. 

An extra added layer of security has been introduced for downloading marksheets from DigiLocker.

To get the marksheets from DigiLocker, students can visit the website — cbseservices.digilocker.gov.in/activatecbse for initiation of their account confirmation process. Students must note that they will need a PIN to download their marksheet from the app. How do you get it? To strengthen the security and privacy of the students' data, the PIN has been introduced.

To confirm the DigiLocker account, students will first have to select their class first either class 10 or 12 and then enter their school code, and roll number. Further, they access the six-digit security PIN from their schools. The PIN will be provided by their school, if not received, students will have to contact their school. The PIN will be a numeric value. Example: If pin number given by school is ‘012345’, students will have to enter only 012345.

Step 2: Login using LOC credentials and select ‘Login as School’

Step 3: Click on download PIN file

Step 4: Select class

Step 5: After downloading the PIN, schools can share the PIN individually with the students for security purposes

CBSE Class 12 result 2024- Here's how to calculate the percentage

The marks in the five main subjects are to be added and divided by 5. For example, the marks of the five main subjects are mentioned below: 

Subject 1: 80

Subject 2: 85 

Subject 3: 87

Subject 4: 92

Subject 5: 95

Step 1: The total marks: 80+85+87+92+95= 439

Step 2: Divide it by 5

439/5 = 87.8 

CBSE Class 12 Result 2024: Passing Criteria

Students would be considered to have cleared the CBSE board exams if they fulfil the criteria mentioned below:

  • Should secure a grade higher than ‘E’ (that is, at least 33% marks) in all the five subjects of external exams in the main (or compartmental exams)
  • For practical work-related subjects, candidates should secure 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical. Apart from this, aspirants should have secured at least 33% marks in aggregate

The Board would give students a pass certificate if they get a grade above 'E' in all subjects of internal assessment (unless he/she is exempted).

CBSE 12th Result 2024 Verification Process

The students who are not satisfied with the marks obtained in the CBSE 12th exam 2024 can apply for the verification of marks/answer sheet. The last date to apply for verification of marks will be announced by the Board. The students are required to fill out the application form for verification of the marks online on the official website. The board re-checks the answer sheets for totaling errors, missing marks, or unchecked/ unmarked questions. After re-checking, the board shares the CBSE 12th result 2024 with the students and allows them to request a photocopy of re-checked CBSE 12th result 2024.

CBSE Class 12 Result 2024: Reverification, Re-evaluation and Marksheet Photocopy

To apply for the CBSE 12th results verification process, students have to pay Rs 500 per subject. On the other hand, the students who want to apply for re-evaluation need to pay Rs 100 per subject. Also, the students who want to get a photocopy of CBSE Class 12 answer sheets are required to pay Rs 500 per answer sheet to apply for the same.

After the release of CBSE class 12th Result 2024, students are required to collect the original mark sheet from their schools respectively. They can now apply for various professional and undergraduate courses in different universities and colleges. Delhi University offers various undergraduate programmes for students hailing from all three streams- Science, Commerce and Arts. DU admissions were earlier based on merit and entrance both. CBSE 12th Result 2024 Statistical Analysis

CBSE will release the CBSE 12th result 2024 statistics along with the result in May 2024.

Students can find the CBSE result statistics for the year 2023 below:

  • The overall pass percentage was 87.33% which decreased by 5% in 2023.
  •  Around 16.9 lakh students appeared for the exam last year. Out of these, 7.4 lakh are female students, 9.51 lakh are male candidates, and 5 students are registered under the 'others' category. The exams were conducted for a total of 115 subjects in 36 days

  • Girls scored 90.68, which is 6.01% more than boys
  • 1.36% students scored 95% and above
  • The pass percentage in 2023 betters the pass percentage of 83.40% of 2019 in the pre-Covid period
  • 6.80% of students scored 90% and above- A total of 1,12,838 students scored 90 per cent or more marks in CBSE Class 12 board exam 2023.  
  • No merit list, no division awarded- CBSE decided not to publish merit list of Class 12 to prevent unhealthy competition among students. Further, CBSE did not award first, second or third divisions. The board said it will award merit certificates to the 0.1 per cent students who have scored the highest marks in subjects.

CBSE is expected to release the CBSE 12th compartment result 2024 in July/August 2024 on the official website. The 12th compartment result 2024 will share the name, roll number, and marks scored by students in all subjects, grades, etc. CBSE will conduct CBSE 12th compartment exams in July 2024 in pen and paper format.

Last year, the Board conducted the CBSE 12th compartment exams on July 17, 2023. The CBSE Compartment result 2023 Class 12 was released on August 1, 2023.
