Haryana government to start the teaching work in schools from July 1, the education minister announced.
The Haryana government has announced that it has decided to start the teaching work in schools from July and in Universities, colleges, from August. As per the government, it will start the teaching in work in shifts for classes 10, 11, and 12.
All educational institutions across the state have been shut since March after coronavirus lockdown was imposed.
Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar tweeted that “Schools to reopen in July in phased manner, starting with classes 10-12, followed by classes 6-9 & 1-5. For social distancing, schools function at 50% strength. In a class of 30 students, 15 will come in the morning & 15 in the evening or alternate days".
"The classes will be conducted in shifts so that social distancing norms are followed and school is not crowded. Half of the students of a class will come in first shift and the rest in the second shift”, he added.
While replying to the question, he said that the demo classes will be run in a few schools to find out how social distancing in the classrooms can be ensured.
“Through these demo classes, we will get an idea if we face any problem because when we take a final decision on the opening of schools then making frequent changes will not be feasible,” the minister said.
He also said that the state government will be taking feedback from the stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and experts, on whether to conduct classes in two shifts to maintain social distancing.
Meanwhile, the Directorate School Education has asked District Education Officers to constitute committees to discuss the issue of opening schools with various stakeholders to seek their feedback and send the report by June 7.
