CUTN supplementary examination aims to target former and outgoing students who were unable to clear several examinations by offering them a second chance to obtain their degrees.
Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) will conduct a One-Time Special Supplementary Examination for former and outgoing students. The examination will be conducted for students who have completed their academic tenure but have not cleared all requisite papers to obtain their degrees.
The comprehensive programme is available to students from the CUTN class of 2009-2010 (1st-year students) to the 2022-2023 Final Year/Outgoing students of the university. This initiative mainly targets former and outgoing students who were unable to pass certain papers in their graduation, giving them an extraordinary second chance to earn their degrees of the specific programe. The decision is in direct reaction to repeated appeals from previous students who, due to a variety of personal or academic problems, were unable to complete their programs within the usual academic timeline.
Prof. Sulochana Shekhar, Controller of Examinations at CUTN, shared the need for supplementary examination and its alignment with NEP 2020, saying, "The NEP encourages flexibility and inclusivity in higher education. This is a student-centric decision aimed at ensuring that a temporary hurdle does not result in a permanent barrier to academic achievement. The programme is being implemented as per the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Krishnan, reflecting the university's commitment to student welfare and academic inclusivity."
Interested and eligible students have to complete the registration through the CUTN exam portal, i.e. exam.cutn.ac.in, before July 7, 2025. A fee of INR 1,600 for theory papers, while INR 1375 per subject for practical examinations shall be paid by the students.
