Delhi University Introduces New Language and Science Programs, Announces Advanced Diploma Courses

Delhi University's new courses will include certification-level courses in French, German, Spanish, Italianand Portuguese at CISBC under the Open Learning Development Centre, along with an Advanced Diploma in Japanese and certificate programs in European languages. 

Delhi University New Courses 2025

Delhi University has announced the commencement of several language and science programmes in order to broaden educational opportunities for students. As a part of this, the academic council of Delhi University has approved a one-year Advanced Diploma in Japanese language at Ramjas College. The Department of Distance and Continuing Education will commence certificate courses in French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese from the upcoming session under the initiative of the Open Learning Development Centre, CISBC's efforts to enhance language education accessibility. 

New Language Programs Approved for 2025–2026 Academic Session

The Academic Council of the university has approved to begin the Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma courses in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages under the Department of Distance and Continuing Education of the School of Open Learning. These courses will begin in the 2025–2026 academic session, based on the recommendations of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Reportedly, new syllabi have been approved under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 across faculties. Along with the language courses, the council also aims to commence new skill enhancement courses such as Robotics and Automation and Introduction to IoT using Arduino in Electronics soon. Additionally, Biomedical Science will also have specialisations like Biological Evidence and Forensic Toxicology. 

Meanwhile, the academic council has allowed for translation of Persian, Arabic and Urdu texts into English to improve the comprehension of literary work. The linguistic programme integration will help students to understand the syllabus better and have a global perspective and cultural insights for academic development.
