DU UG Admissions 2025: Over 71,000 Students Secure Seats in Round 2; Fee Payment Deadline Extended

With over 2.5 lakh UG applicants this year through CUET-UG 2025, competition for seats in top DU colleges like Hindu College, SRCC, St. Stephen’s, LSR, Miranda House, and Hansraj College remains intense. The high number of upgrades shows that many are still eyeing their dream course or college.

Delhi University has confirmed 71,366 UG admissions in Round 2; fee deadline extended to August 1. More than 36,000 students upgraded, Round 3 schedule announced.

University of Delhi (DU) has confirmed that 71,366 undergraduate admissions have been secured in Round 2 of the 2025 admission cycle as of 6:00 pm on August 1, 2025. The number includes 136 orphans and 942 single girl children.

DU has extended fee payment deadline for Round 2 till 11:59 pm on August 1, giving relief to thousands of students struggling with last minute processing.

Round 2 Snapshot

As per official data:

Confirmed Admissions: 71,366

Admissions Freezed: 31,046

Opted for Upgrade: 36,663

Orphans Admitted: 136

Single Girl Children Admitted: 942

Freezing an admission indicates that students are satisfied with their current seat and do not wish to upgrade in further rounds. However, more than 36,000 candidates have chosen to upgrade, hoping for a better course-college combination in the upcoming rounds.

Comparison with Round 1

In Round 1, DU had confirmed around 64,000 admissions by the deadline, of which 30,622 candidates froze their seats and 34,221 opted for upgrades. With Round 2 showing an upward trend in confirmed seats and upgrades, competition remains high, especially in top colleges and popular courses.

Mid-Entry and Round 3 Schedule Released

DU has also announced the schedule for Round 3 and Mid-Entry admissions, expected to of\\\\fer a final shot at entry into top colleges for those who missed the earlier deadlines or wish to re-enter the system.

The Mid-Entry window is typically open for new candidates who did not apply earlier or those who exited the process and want to re-register.

DU is expected to publish the Third Round allocation list in early August, and the schedule will be live on the official admission portal: admission.uod.ac.in

Fee payment for Round 2 must be completed by August 1, 11:59 pm

Candidates who froze their seat will not be considered for further upgrades

Students opting for upgrade will be considered in Round 3 based on availability

DU's Mid-Entry round will be crucial for late applicants and those who regret their earlier choices
