IIT JAM 2021 will be conducted as a computer-based test tomorrow. Read to know exam day guidelines and more.
Things Allowed in IIT JAM 2021 Exam Centre
Candidates will be allowed to bring only the following things inside IIT JAM 2021 exam centres:
- Mask
- Gloves
- Personal hand sanitizer bottle
- Simple pen or pencil
- Transparent water bottle
- IIT JAM 2021 admit card
- ID card
Since the examination is being conducted at various centres during the COVID-19 pandemic, IIISc Bangalore has published some exam day guidelines for IIT JAM 2021
- Candidates are advised to report one hour before the scheduled commencement of the examination in order to avoid overcrowding.
- The rope queues and floor marks in the IIT JAM 2021 exam centres must be followed.
- Candidates are requested to maintain social distancing.
- The temperature of each candidate will be checked using Thermo Guns. Candidates with body temperature higher than 99.4 Fahrenheit will have to take the examination from an isolation area inside the exam centre.
- The IIT JAM 2021 admit card and original ID will be checked from a safe distance by the authorities. Bar code guns will be used to check the admit card and to allot lab numbers.
Once the candidates are inside their allotted lab, they will be guided to the registration desk for photograph capture. For the photo capture process, the candidates will be required to briefly remove their mask, stand erect and maintain eye contact with the webcam for clear capture of the face.
After the exam is over, the candidates will be requested to move out in an orderly manner. Candidates are advised to not leave behind any of their assets. The scribble pad has to be left behind at the dropbox.
About IIT JAM
IIT JAM is an annual entrance examination conducted Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) every year on a rotational basis on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. On the basis of IIT JAM scores, candidates can apply for admissions in MSc and other postgraduate courses offered at IITs and integrated PhD courses offered by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Many National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) also accept IIT JAM scores for MSc admissions.
