IIT JAM 2027: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur will be releasing Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2027 information brochure tomorrow on August 22. Candidates willing to get admission to postgraduate science programmes at IITs and other participating institutes can download detailed IIT JAM information brochure on August 22, 2026. They need to visit official website jam.iitkgp.ac.in to download IIT JAM 2027 information brochure.
Also, as per dates available, IIT JAM application window will open on September 5, 2026. IIT JAM information brochure will include eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, application fee, reservation policy, and complete admission guidelines. IIT JAM Registration to Open Through JOAPS
IIT JAM 2027 application will be conducted entirely online through JOAPS portal. Candidates will have to register using their email ID and mobile number, fill in personal and academic details, upload documents and complete fee payment before October 12. PwD candidates will also be required to upload certificates after completing payment process. IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and is expected to include seven subjects:

IIT JAM is conducted for admission to postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., MS (Research), and Integrated Ph.D. offered by IITs and other participating institutions. JAM scores are accepted for 2027-28 academic session across multiple institutes.
Commonly asked questions
A score above 75 is considered a good score. 75 marks will help to obtain a rank between 1 and 80. This mark will help to get admission to IIT JAM participating institutes.
JAM 2026 Examination was conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listed on JAM 2026 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2026). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates can choose the second and third choice city only from the same zone.
In case, any city in the choices is not allotted due to operational reasons, alternate city will be allotted. Candidates are requested to regularly check JAM 2026 website for updates regarding examination cities, if any.
While uploading files candidates must ensure that they do so in suggested resolution. In case PDF file or printout does not display a clear photograph or signature candidates need to PDF resolution again and check for clarity. If it is still not clear enough, then they have to approach exam authorities and seek solutions.
