IIT JAM 2027: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has released official Information Brochure and poster online at official website jam.iitkgp.ac.in. As per official update, JAM 2027 registration date has also been revised. Now, IIT JAM JOAPS portal will be activated from September 12, 2026. Whereas, last date to submit IIT JAM 2027 registration form remains same. 

Interested candidates can complete IIT JAM 2027 registration form online till October 12, 2026 at official website. Those willing to get admission to postgraduate programmes in participating IITs and other institutes can check IIT JAM eligibility criteria, examination pattern, syllabus, application and other details in information brochure PDF. 

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027

Candidates can apply online through official JAM website once application portal opens. They should keep their photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate/marksheet and applicable category or PwD certificates ready while applying. Check steps below 

• Go to IIT JAM official website

• Click on JOAPS Portal

• Complete IIT JAM registration to generate login credentials

• Login and fill application form

• Upload image and signature

• Pay application fees

• Submit form

IIT JAM 2027 Application Fee

The application fee for candidates belonging to the Female/SC/ST/PwD categories is INR 1,000 for one test paper and INR 1,350 for two test papers. For all other candidates, fee is INR 2,000 for one paper and INR 2,700 for two papers.

IIT JAM 2027 Examination Date and Schedule

IIT JAM will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) on February 14, 2027. The examination will be held in two sessions. Check table to know IIT JAM exam schedule 

Candidates can appear for either one or two test papers. Those opting for two papers can select only papers scheduled in different sessions.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Pattern 

The exam will have three sections - Section A (MCQs), Section B (MSQs) and Section C (NAT questions). Negative marking will apply to incorrect answers in Section A, while there will be no negative marking in Section B. JAM will be conducted for seven test papers
