The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is conducted annually in order to offer students admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and Mumbai University - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Students can get admission to integrated MSc courses offered at the two institutes. The NEST 2021 academic year schedule is expected to be announced soon as the application forms for NEST are generally released in the month of January each year. However, before applying online, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria.
Through NEST, candidates can get admission to the following courses:

Approximately 70,000 students each year apply for admission to courses, however, only a handful of students are able to clear the entrance exam and secure admission in the programmes offered.

Candidates are advised that these are tentative dates and the schedule may vary. The schedule cannot be compared to the 2020 schedule as the COVID-19 pandemic extended and delayed the admission process. The application forms were extended due to the lockdown imposed and NEST was conducted on September 29, 2020, with strict social distancing measures taken at the time.
