Shiksha Survey - 50% Candidates Relied on YouTube Tutorials for APEdCET Exam Preparation

Shiksha surveyed students who appeared in the AP EdCET 2025 examination on June 5, 2025. The survey revealed that a lot of candidates, amounting to over 52 percent, to be specific, turned to YouTube tutorials as their primary source for preparation.

As per Shiksha poll, 52% of respondents voted that they relied on YouTube for study materials and exam guidance, which shows a clear indication of candidates' growing dependency and over-reliance on digital resources.

Apart from YouTube tutorials, the poll included four major preparation methods. Here’s a breakdown of what students responded:

  • YouTube Tutorials – 52%
  • Self Study – 30%
  • Group Study with Friends – 15%
  • Coaching Classes – 4%

This poll result showcases a significant shift from traditional classroom or coaching-based learning to self-paced, online study formats.

We believe that online studying has benefited students as it is affordable, easy to access, and flexible. As only 4% of students reported attending coaching classes, the numbers also indicate a decline in dependence on formal coaching institutes. This shows how future exam preparation strategies will be formulated, both by students and educators, with online platforms playing an important role.
