Technical institutes reopen for physical classes in Uttarakhand

All technical institutes in Uttarakhand reopened for offline studies today (August 23). The institutes have to ensure that safety measures related to COVID are strictly followed.

Though the degree colleges and universities will be allowed to reopen for offline classes from September 1, schools in the state have already started physical classes for the students of Classes 6 to 8 from August 16. The students who have taken both doses of COVID-19 vaccine will not have to produce a negative RT-PCR report for attending offline classes.

The government has asked the institutions to sanitise the premises properly before reopening colleges. Technical institutes will have to provide provisions of hand sanitiser, masks, and thermal scanning at the entry gate. They will have to prepare a schedule to have students enter and leave colleges at different hours. Students will have to wear masks while attending offline classes.

SOPs for attending offline classes

• The colleges have to ensure that the teaching and non-teaching staff are vaccinated against Covid

• The building premises have to be sanitised everyday before resuming classes

• Masks should be worn at all times

• The entrance of the colleges must have sanitisers, thermal scanners and provision of hand washing facilities

• Any student or teaching or non-teaching staff found with symptoms of Covid such as cold, fever or cough will be sent back home

• Students will have to sit at a distance of six feet in classes
