The students are advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions are able to verify applications within the prescribed timeline. Students can submit all online applications through the NSP at scholarships.gov.in.

The University Grants Commission is now inviting online applications for scholarships for the academic year 2021-22. Students can now apply for the same through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Students must note that the last date to submit the online applications for scholarships is on or before November 30, 2021. The last date for application verifications by institutions, including re-submission of defective applications, is on or before December 15, 2021.

The UGC notification stated, “The students are advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions are able to verify applications within the prescribed timeline."  Students can submit all online applications through the NSP at scholarships.gov.in.

Students must note that they can apply for the following four types of scholarships schemes:

 Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC)

Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child gives girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in the first year of PG courses with a fellowship amount of Rs 36,200 per annum for two years.

  • PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate (URH)

 PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate is available to the student for the first PG degree only. The age limit for the students is 30 years at the time of admission in the PG course. An amount of Rs 3,100 per month for a tenure of two years is granted for this fellowship.

  • Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region (NER)

Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region provides a scholarship amount of Rs 5400 per month for a general degree course and Rs 7800 per month for technical, medical, professional and paramedical courses. 

  • PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST Candidate (PGSPROF)

PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC and ST Candidate provides for those candidates selected for the award of PG scholarships (under ME/MTech.) with a scholarship of Rs.7800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For the remaining courses, a scholarship amount of Rs 4500 per month will be provided.
