UP Cabinet Expansion: Jitin Prasada gets technical education department
In the portfolio allocation of the recently inducted leaders in the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, Cabinet Minister Jitin Prasada was given the responsibility of the Technical Education Department.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the allocation of the department to Prasada on Twitter on Monday. The portfolio was earlier held by Kamal Rani Varun who died of Covid on August 2, 2020. Prasada, along with six other ministers, took the oath of office and secrecy at the Uttar Pradesh Raj Bhavan on Sunday.
MoS Paltu Ram has been assigned Sainik Kalyan, Home Guard, Provincial Rakshak Dal and Civil Security Department; and Dr Sangeeta Balwant has been given the responsibility of Cooperative Department. MoS Dharmaveer Prajapati will head the Industrial Development Department. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Gandhi Auditorium in Raj Bhavan.
The names were shortlisted last month at a 3.5-hour meeting hosted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence that was attended by BJP Chief JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath, and senior party functionaries Sunil Bansal and Swatantra Dev Singh.
Adityanath congratulated the new ministers. He tweeted, "All the ministers, who were inducted on Sunday have been given the responsibility of their departments. I am confident that under your leadership, the development of the departments concern will touch new heights."
