Uttar Pradesh: Few video clips showing students of a government primary school in Ballia district cleaning a toilet of the educational institution purportedly on the command of a teacher have taken social media by storm. The video clips are going viral on the internet receiving responses of rage and shock.
Sources said the videos captured on Wednesday were of a primary school at Pipra Kala village in the Sohav area. In one of the videos, the man was seen warning the students to lock the toilet if they do not clean the same.
Matter under investigation
Taking cognizance of the incident, the education department has ordered an inquiry. Department officials said the matter is being investigated and action will be taken against those found guilty.
The basic education officer here on Thursday said he has ordered a probe after a clip purportedly showing students being forced to clean toilets at a district primary school surfaced on social media.
The video shows the children cleaning a toilet, while a man is seen scolding them. The man also threatens to lock the toilet if the students did not do as asked.
Basic Education Officer Maniram Singh said the video went viral on Wednesday.
The video is said to be of the primary school at Pipra Kala in the Sohavn area here. The authorities are yet to ascertain the identity of the man who is seen threatening the children.
Singh said he had sought a report from the Sohavn block education officer. Necessary action against those responsible would be taken once the report is submitted, he added.
