Uttar Pradesh govt to establish first ever women's university on 100 acres land in Gorakhpur

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to set up the state's first all-women University in Gorakhpur. The University will be set up on a 100-acre land, the media reports suggested.
The district magistrate reportedly said that a Bengaluru-based multinational company, Sobha Limited, will be investing INR 700 crore in the establishment of the university under its Corporate Social Res (CSR) fund. Last month, a delegation of the company had a discussion with the divisional commissioner of the Gorakhpur district who proposed to set up the university, the report said.
The officials of Gorakhput district have selected the land for the setting up of the university on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway, the report further said. After its establishment, the university will become the fifth university in the state. In other news, the land allotment to two educational institutes in Greater Noida has been cancelled due to non-payment of dues of over INR 50 crore.
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has cancelled the allotment of 28,750 square metres of land to Priyadarshini College of Computer Science and allotment of 20,000 square metres of land to Soho Food and Beverages (Soho Mascot Foundation) to build the Greater Noida Educational Institute.
