He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given respect to the nation’s official language by talking in Hindi at varied occasions and on worldwide platforms. Under his leadership, work has begun to translate the curriculum of technical education and pharmaceutical education into the official language. It will bring a change in the country.” 

He said if the syllabus of technical and medical education was translated into official language, then children studying in Hindi could complete the process of medical examination and become a doctor and they could also do research in Hindi. He said that in the same way, the curriculum of all the disciplines of engineering in technical education would also be translated.  

He was speaking at the 36th meeting of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language. 

Under section 3 of the Official Languages Act 1963, this committee was to be constituted after 10 years of the promulgation of the act. This committee was set up in 1976 under Section 4 of the act. This committee comprises 30 members of Parliament, 20 from Lok Sabha, and 10 from Rajya Sabha. The Committee of Parliament on Official Language is responsible to review the progress made in the use of Hindi for the official purpose of the union. He went on to add that after discussing with the MPs of various parties, a list of local language books of local history should be made and the Culture Department of the Government of India should translate the books and make them available in good libraries of the country. There should also be a system for their sale. He said if the history of every part of the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari became available in the official language for children studying history, then automatically the promotion of the official language would increase and this would enrich the knowledge of children.
