RRB NTPC 2020 Exam: Railway Ministry issues new guidelines for exam amid COVID-19

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has issued detailed exam day guidelines for RRB NTPC 2020 exam scheduled to be conducted from December 15. According to the new exam day guidelines, in case the CBT is conducted in COVID-19 scenario, the ECA will be required to adopt additional safety precautions. Adequate measures will be taken at the exam centre due to COVID-19 pandemic. It will be ensured at the exam centre that each candidate wore a mask. Candidates need to submit self-declaration about health status and show Aarogya Setu app. The temperature of candidates will be checked at the entry gate. COVID-19: New RRB NTPC Exam Day Guidelines 2020 

To ensure the safety of candidates, the ECA finalised by RRBs are required to take the following guidelines.

Number of shifts

In view of ensuring proper sanitisation and social distancing between candidates, the maximum number of shifts of RRB NTPC has been restricted to two.

Sanitisation of exam centres

Entire examination centre floors and walls, doors, gates will be sprayed with prescribed disinfectant. Sanitiser bottles will always be available at the entry gate, biometric/photo booths, examination rooms, candidates desk, staff/observer room, etc. All liquid hand wash bottles should be replenished promptly in restrooms and entry gate whenever required. The sanitisation of exam centres after each shift will be done. 

Testing of exam functionaries

The health status of all the staff associated with the conduct of CBT in a particular shift will be checked as soon as they report at the centre before the beginning of a Shift. The exam functionaries need to submit self-declaration about their health status and show Aorgya Setu status at the entry gate. Their temperature will be checked at the staff entry point. They need to wear a mask, follow physical distancing, sanitisation during the exam. The frontline security staff engaged in frisking will have to wear face shield and PPE.
Wearing masks

Candidates will have to wear masks at the examination centre. Arrangements will be taken to tackle impersonation. The temperature of candidates will be checked at the entry gate. If any candidate reports without a face mask, the same may be provided by ECA.

Maintaining social distancing

There will be proper marking with at least six feet distance where candidates of subsequent shifts will stand before entry. Candidates will have to exit the exam centre one by one in an orderly manner. It will be ensured that the candidates of the first shift do not cross those waiting for the second shift. The exam venues will have adequate rooms to ensure a minimum distance of six feet between two candidates during the exam. The seat allotted in one shift will not be used for seating of candidates of subsequent shift.

Submission of self-declaration and display of Aarogya Setu

Before entry, ECA will ensure that candidates submit self-declaration regarding their health status. Thermal screening will be done and candidates need to display their Aarogya Setu app status. The hands of candidates will be sanitised. Those having symptoms of fever, cough and cold will not be allowed to take the exam. The exam of such candidates will be rescheduled after submission of a medical certificate from a registered medical doctor.

Biometric/frisking

At the entry during the security check, frisking of the candidates will be done using hand-held metal detector devices. There will be no physical body patting. Candidates will be made to sanitise their hands before and after signing the attendance sheet, LTI and biometric capture. A photo of the candidate will be taken after the removal of their face mask.
