RRB 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board released the detailed RRB Group D 2026 notification on January 31 for CEN No.09/2025. The application form was released along with the notification. Interested candidates can fill the application form till March 2. Candidates aged between 18 to 33 years can apply. They must have completed Class 10th/ITI. RRB Group D exam is conducted to select candidates to various level 1 posts in Indian Railways. Further, the Board is expected to release RRB NTPC 2026 notification in August. The application form will be released along with the notification.

RRB NTPC 2025

RRB NTPC Graduate application status was released on January 20 for CEN No. 06/2025. Candidates can check the same by logging with the required credentials. RRBs closed the window to edit RRB NTPC UG application form on December 16. The detailed Railway NTPC UG notification was released for a total of 3058 vacancies. A total of 8875 vacancies were announced for Graduate posts for RRB NTPC exam. Candidates can check below in detail about the RRBs exams including RRB Group D, RRB NTPC, RRB ALP, and RRB JE.

RRB Exam 2026 Updates: RRB NTPC, RRB Group D, RRB JE, RRB ALP, RPF SI & Constable

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conduct various RRB exams, such as RRB NTPC, RRB Group D, RRB JE, RRB ALP, etc., to select candidates for different posts in the railway units. A large number of applicants apply for these Railway exams. Get here the updates on the ongoing Railway exam events:

RRB NTPC 2025: RRB NTPC Graduate application status was released on January 20 for CEN No. 06/2025. Candidates can check the same by logging with the required credentials. The Board released RRB NTPC CBT 2 UG answer key 2025 CBT 2 on December 24. Candidates could raise objections in RRB NTPC 2025 UG CBT 2 answer key online till December 30.

RRB NTPC (UG) Result for the notification number CEN 6/2024 was released online by the regional portals. Every region selected different number of candidates based on their vacancies.

The RRB NTPC Graduate application form for graduate posts was available till December 4, 2025. The RRB NTPC UG applications 2025 begun on October 28, 2025.

RRB Group D 2026:  Railway Recruitment Boards will release the detailed RRB Group D 2026 notification on January 31 for CEN No. CEN No.09/2025. The application form will be released along with the notification. Interested candidates can fill the application form till March 2. RRB Group D application form will be available from January 31 to March 2, 2026. 

The Railway RRB Group D exam begun on November 27. The RRB Group D notification PDF was released on on January 23, 2025, for 32,438 vacancies. The  RRB Group D application form 2025 was released on January 23, 2025 and was available till March 1, 2025. The RRB Group D form correction 2025 was active from March 4 to 13, 2025.

RRB ALP 2025: The notification (CEN 01/2025) was released for 9970 vacancies. RRB ALP application form 2025-26 was invited from April 12, 2025, to May 19, 2025.

What is RRB Railway Recruitment?

The national transporter, Indian Railways, is the biggest recruiter in the country. Every year Indian Railways announces lakhs of jobs for graduates, Class 12 and matric pass candidates. Against the vacancies, the Railways receive crores of application forms. The recruitment of the railways is handled by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs). RRBs are mandated with the responsibility of conducting recruitment to all Group C (Technical and Non-Technical) posts. RRCs are given the responsibility of conducting exams for Group D recruitment. RRB 2026 Exam: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria vary as per the posts. RRB eligibility criteria for various exams are given below:

RRB Group D

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification: The minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be a Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by the National Council for Vocational Training or a Class 10 pass plus ITI.

RRB NTPC

Age Limit: The age limit for the undergraduate post is 18 to 30 years. The age limit for the graduate post is 18 to 33 years.

Educational Qualification:

For undergraduate posts, candidates must have passed Class 12

For graduate posts, candidates must have passed the graduation

RRB JE

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification 

JE Post: An applicant must have three years Diploma in Civil Engineering/Mechanical/ Production/ Automobile / Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Control/ Tools & Machining/ Tools & Die Making/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or B.Sc in Civil Engineering from a Recognized University/Institute.

DMS: Applicants need to complete a three-year Diploma in Engineering from any govt. recognized university or equivalent.

JE (IT): Candidates must have PGDCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ BCA/ B.Tech. (Information Technology)/ B.Tech. (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ level course of three years duration or equivalent.

CMA: Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 55 per cent marks

Age Limit: 18 to 28 years.

Educational Qualification:

ALP: Must have passed Class 10/SSLC & ITI/Course Completed Act Apprentices or Diploma/Degree in Engineering.

RRB Selection Process 2026

Filling Railway Exam Application Form

The application form for RRB should be filled out online only. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250. The application fee can be paid online and offline. The application fee is refunded after deducting the bank charges appearing in the CBT.

How Can I Apply for RRB 2026?

The ways to fill the RRB application form for various exams are given below

  • Visit the website-https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/
  • Read all the information and instructions thoroughly
  • Click on the ‘New Registration’ link
  • Register for the exam by submitting details such as name, date of birth and father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric registration number, year of passing, mobile number, and email ID, and then submit the registration form
  • Upon registration, candidates need to verify their email ID and mobile number through OTP
  • In Part I of the application page, candidates are required to provide the details of educational qualification, community, gender, religion, Ex-Servicemen, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward Class, Age Relaxation and other details
  • In Part II of the application page, candidates are required to indicate the priority/preference of the posts
  • On completion of application details, candidates are redirected to the payment page using Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan
  • Candidates are required to choose the exam language
  • Candidates are required to fill in the details of a valid photo ID card
  • Enter bank details to get the refund of fees

RRB admit card 2026 will be released four days before the scheduled date of the exam. The admit card is issued online separately for different stages of the exam. Appearing in CBT

The CBT is conducted in two stages: First and Second. The exam is conducted across various cities in the country and in multiple shifts. Typing Skill Test/ Computer Based Aptitude Test/Skill Test/PET are conducted as per the posts. Candidates for this stage are selected based on their performance in the second stage CBT.

Document Verification

Document Verification is done for all the posts. It is mandatory for candidates to appear at this stage.

Medical Examination

RRB ALP Exam Pattern

According to the RRB ALP exam pattern, the first stage of CBT is divided into four sections: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The test paper will have 75 objective-type questions and the duration of the test is 60 minutes. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for wrong answers.

The second stage of CBT is divided into two parts: A and B. Part A comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness and Current Affairs. Part B comprises relevant trade-related questions. Total number of questions in the test will be 175.

The CBAT of RRB comprises five test batteries. Candidates have to score 42 marks in the test battery.

The basic RRB Group D salary is INR 18,000. The in-hand salary of RRB Group D posts is INR 22,000-25,000. Besides, candidates get various benefits and allowances.

RRB Assistant Loco Pilot salary varies from INR 19,900 (excluding HRA, DA, etc.) to INR 35,000.

Candidates can check below some of the important points related to the RRB exam:

  • RRB Group D eligibility criteria have been revised for candidates who wish to apply for the exam in the future. As per the revised eligibility, candidates applying for the technical departments must be a Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or a Class 10 pass plus ITI
  • The Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, recently informed the parliament that 1.49 lakh entry-level job posts are lying vacant in Indian Railways. The maximum number of vacant posts is reported in Northern Railways
  • Percentile-based normalisation of marks will be done wherever the number of shifts involved is more than one
  • Any available Income and Asset Certificate for candidates, who have applied under Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), is considered valid

RRB Group D is a level-1 job while RRB NTPC (non-technical popular categories) is a level 2 to 7 job. The basic salary of candidates selected through RRB Group D is INR 18,000. RRB NTPC salary is different for different posts. The starting basic salary range offered to undergraduate posts is INR 19,900 to 21,700. While, the graduate post employees are offered RRB NTPC salary in the range of INR 25,500 to IBR 35,400. RRB NTPC CBT 1 cut off 2025 for Graduate Posts was released on September 19, 2025. The cut off for Undergraduate posts was released on November 21. The calculation of base shift is done by using the standard mathematical formula of interpolation. The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination.
