Delhi University will resume offline classes for Science stream, Arts and Commerce to wait

With COVID-19 cases going down in the national Capital, the schools and colleges are exploring possibilities of reopening campuses for students. The University of Delhi (DU) is also planning to resume offline classes for students of the science stream.

Delhi University is likely to come up with a set of guidelines on restarting offline classes next week. DU Registrar Vikas Gupta during a webinar on undergraduate admissions said that the classes will happen in blended mode. He said that as the Science stream syllabus involves a lot of practical and project work the university is exploring the possibility of reopening the campus gradually.

The university started its UG admission process this week. Till now over 85,000 students have registered on Delhi University official website. The last date of UG registration is August 31.

Regarding the opening of campus for Arts and Commerce students, Gupta said that they should have patience. He said: β€œThe guidelines are likely to be issued next week.”

DU suspended all offline classes for UG, PG and PhD students in March and early April with the onset of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The university has mostly been imparting undergraduate education in online mode since last year.
