Commerce is a field which students who have an interest in the field of financial information/transactions, trading of economic value, etc. Often consider taking up after completing 10+2. Students who are looking forward to pursuing a career in Commerce have a wide range of choices before them. Candidates can pursue the Commerce course at the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate PG Diploma levels as well as at the doctoral level. UG level Commerce courses offered to aspirants include B.Com BBA CA CS BBA LL.B. M. B.Sc. Etc. At the PG level, popular Commerce programs are M.Com MBA, M.Phil M.Sc. Etc. Generally speaking, UG courses in Commerce are of three years duration whereas PG programme are of two years duration. Among Commerce courses, students can consider selecting from specialised fields such as accounting and finance, banking and finance, accounting and taxation, actuarial Science, business administration, applied economics, e-commerce, financial accounting, banking and insurance, human resources, entrepreneurship, accounting and auditing, etc. Some functions performed by commerce graduates (and the work profiles they get in jobs) are accounting, auditing, corporate restructuring, foreign collaborations and joint ventures, finance, taxation, tax consulting, secretarial and corporate governance arbitration and conciliation, financial management, project planning, capital market and investor relations, corporate advisory services, Cost and Management Accountants (earlier referred to as Cost and Works Accountants) are responsible for budgeting, cost management, performance evaluation and asset management within a company or organisation. Commerce grads if add some more skills get to work in: Financial Planning/Consulting, Financial Analyst, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Venture Capital, Risk Management, Wealth Management, Stockbroking etc. You can also try the Bank PO examinations after graduation in any stream, although degrees such as B.Com BBA Economics can be advantageous. Some popular exams for the Bank PO position include, SBI PO Exam, IBPS PO Exam, ICICI Bank-PO Exam, Axis Bank-PO Exam, HDFC Bank-PO Exam, etc. Lastly, there is one more field which has immense scope and that is statistics
Commerce is a degree which requires hard work and right skilled faculty to teach, you need to study this highly demanding course only in colleges/universities of high repute with solid track record.

Hello Shashank, To join Indian Army as an officer, commerce stream students has two ways:
1. After class 12th, you can take entry through NDA.
2. After completing graduation, you can take entry through CDSE, NCC, JAG Entry, etc. In case of joining Indian Air Force and Indian Navy as officers, there is no provision available for commerce student right after completing class 12th. They may join Indian Navy or IAF after graduation though. Yes, you can join Airforce by applying for AFCAT examination. Commerce stream students may join Indian Air Force as officers (In ground duty branches) after graduation, by appearing for AFCAT examination.
