The eligibility criteria is different for each specialisation. Check out the following:
- Plant Physiology, Plant Sciences, Physical Sciences, Entomology and Nematology, Agronomy - A BSc (Agriculture), BSc Hons (Agriculture) degree of four years duration
- Social Sciences, Statistical Sciences - A BSc (Agriculture), BSc Hons (Agriculture), BSc (CA & BM) degree of four years duration
- Molecular Biology and Biotechnology - Completed a BSc Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Forestry, BSc Hons (Agriculture) of four years duration

Candidates applying for MTech shall have a BE/BTech degree in the relevant specialisation. Further, the university shortlists students based on the score secured in the ICAR AIEEA exam. Hence, aspirants must a valid score of the accepted entrance test to become eligible for admission. Further, based on seat intake and students' exam scores, the seat allotment is carried out.

Agriculture | Class 12 from a recognised board with Physical Sciences/ Biological/ Natural Sciences Age Limit: 17 years to 22 years (for General Category), 3 year relaxation for SC/ST and Physically challaenged |
Community Science | Class 12 with PCM/MBiPC subjects. Or 3 year Diploma in Home Science under 10% supernumerary 8 seats Age Limit: 17 years to 22 years (for General Category), 3 year relaxation for SC/ST and Physically challaenged |
