There is a medical test in the AFCAT selection process. The medical test is conducted at the time of AFSB Interview. It is one of the most important factors in the selection process of AFCAT. Candidates not clearing the medical test are rejected from further processes.

AFCAT selection process is the same for men and women candidates. However, the eligibility in terms of height and weight is slightly different from the male counterparts. Candidates applying for the AFCAT exam are required to appear for the online test and AFSB interview.

AFCAT Exam was introduced in the year 2011 as an OMR-based paper but in 2019 the Computer Based Test (CBT) was initiated. In 2022, normalisation process was introduced in the exam process. The reason why the normalisation process was introduced in the AFCAT exam is given below:

  • To maintain uniformity in the selection process and judge the merit of the candidates on a common notation

The online correction window for AFCAT is made available by IAF after the application process closes. Only two sections are editable, 'Fill Application Form' and 'Upload Document'. Using the correction window, candidates can edit the details such as Candidate's name, Father's name, Passport Size Photo, Signature, Thumb Impression. No other fields are editable. No extra fee is charged to make the changes in the application form. The facility for editing the application form can be done by candidates who register successfully and pay the application fee.
