If you wish to get a Diploma in Fashion Design after 10th, you should have at least 45 to 50% marks in Class 10 from a recognised board. There is no such minimum age restriction for most of the fashion design Diploma programs, but a few colleges may put a maximum age limit.
For some design institutes, Class 10 merit can suffice for taking admission to the course, but for others you need to appear for a written test and/or personal interview/portfolio submission. So, it is better to go to the respective college website and check what all requirements and admission processes they follow so that you can prepare yourself accordingly.

Yes polytechnic is really a nice option after 10th class. You can start learning job skills early and go for many Diploma courses in Polytechnic if you want a technical career. These diploma programs mostly teach more of practical things in engineering, technology, applied science and also in creative sides like hotel management or fashion designing. After you finish the diploma you can join job directly or you can go for higher study like B.Tech or BCA or maybe B.Sc too if you want more growth in career later.
