At present, AIIMS Delhi offers a total of 132 seats for admission to the MBBS programme. A total of 125 seats are offered for the MBBS programme at AIIMS Delhi, along with 7 for foreign students. Initially, the institute offered only 100 seats for MBBS which were selected based on the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam. No. AIIMS doesn't release the official INI CET question paper. However, various coaching centres release question paper along with the answer key right after the exam. These unofficial question paper are based on memory of exam taking candidates. Experts provide answer to these questions. With unofficial INI CET question paper and answer key, candidates can predict the overall score in the exam. The question paper proves very useful to aspirants who plan to appear for the exam in next few years as it helps them understand exam pattern and weightage from each subject.

Since 2020, the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam had been replaced with NEET for admission to the MBBS programme. Hence, the admission to MBBS programme at AIIMS Delhi and all the other AIIMS campuses will solely be based on the marks scored by the candidates in the NEET exam. There are no management category seats available at AIIMS campuses. AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam has been permanently scrapped as an entrance exam.

As per India Today's article on the medical entrance exam, the topper found the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2018 a bit tougher than NEET 2018, even though she studied at CBSE. She added, "The overall difficulty level of the AIIMS paper was a bit higher, and it was tougher to crack the medical exam. " However, the AIIMS Entrance Exam has been discontinued, and admission to the AIIMS Delhi MBBS programme takes place through NEET scores.
