Both universities are good in own way you choose to your priority based so I give some points in given below it help to choose right to your priority.
1.if you choose columnbia this programme is reserch oriented and provide to you varieties of laps and projects.
And if you choose ummass it is mainly focused on research specially with tha state of arts like database and ai
If you choose umass Amherst if reaserch important for you so you chosee this university
And also if you focus on networking and easy to access to industry and you can afford it
To choose to your priority based.

The University of Massachusetts Master of Engineering Management course duration is 1-2 years. GRE requirement from this course has been waived. Furthermore, it is a STEM program. MSEM international students are eligible for OPT. To pursue this program, the applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree, Personal Statement, Letters of Recommendation, Resume / CV.

F1 students are eligible to work on-campus as long as they maintain their immigration status. Employment is limited to a total of 20-hours per week when the university is in session. In vacation periods, students can work 20+ hours. Off-campus work can also be done but prior authorization has to be taken from International Programs Office at UMass Amherst.
