In the APSET exam, 6 per cent of candidates who have cleared both papers are declared qualified for the eligibility for Assistant Professor/Lecturership. Candidates need to obtain the APSET qualifying marks to clear the papers. Candidates who have secured at least 40 per cent marks (General Category) and 35 per cent marks (reserved categories) in both papers combined together are declared qualified in the exam for Assistant Professor/Lecturership.

The APSET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers are compulsory in the APSET examination. Have a look at the details of Paper 1 and Paper 2 below:
- APSET Paper 1: The APSET Paper 1 exam carries 100 marks and is common for all candidates and comprises 50 compulsory objective type MCQs of two marks each. The duration of Paper 1 is one hour. The questions will be bilingual- English and Telugu. The Paper 1 subject is Teaching and Research Aptitude.

1. The question papers are usually in two languages: Telugu and English .
2. There are two papers in APSET paper 1 and paper 2.
3. The paper one consists of 50 questions about general aptitude.
4. Paper 2 consists of 100 core subjects based on your master's qualification.

There are 3 exams in which 75 minutes are given for paper 1 and 2 and 150 minutes are given for paper 3 and all the questions are objective type. There is no negative marking for any wrong answer.
