Arizona State University

International students at ASU University USA are eligible for work done and paid by ASU and for work done and paid by ARAMARK Campus Dining and Follett Bookstore. This includes hourly jobs, Research Assistant (RA), and Teaching Assistant positions. Stipend jobs can also be done. During the Fall and Spring semesters, students can work up to 20 hours per week and during the semester breaks, students can work 40 hours per week. OPT Details

Post-OPT is a work opportunity to get some off-campus work experience and is required to be attained after the completion of a degree program. F1 students are eligible for 12-month OPT per degree level. Those 12 months can be used while earning the degree (Pre-OPT), after getting the degree (Post-OPT), or a combination of both (Pre-and Post-OPT).

It cannot be considered hard to get into Arizona State University as an international student, as the ASU acceptance rate stands at 90% and it remains almost similar every year. For the year 2025, the international students acceptance rate stood at 88.3% which is high, suggesting that out of every 100 applications, 88 to 89 students were rolled out an offer letter. 

However, to raise one's chances, international students must meet certain eligibility requirements mentioned below: 

• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale 
• English language  proficiency test with minimum score requirements (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)
• Standardized tests such as GMAT/GRE for PG programs like MBA and SAT or ACT for UG programs. For UG, these tests may be optional. 
• High-school coursework in certain subjects
• Additional requirements like SOP, Updated resume, and LORs. 

With the approval as per the academic unit, full-time or part-time internships are allowed in Spring, Fall, and Summer. Academic justification is required for full-time internships during the Fall or Spring semesters. For UG students, part-time internships are recommended in the Spring and Fall semesters. The internships are allowed for international students at ASU as given below:

• Undergraduate: At least 1 credit hour per internship experience in addition to or included as part of degree requirements
• Graduate: At least 1 credit hour per experience in addition to or included as part of degree requirements

Eligibility for Internship

• UG students that meet the CPT eligibility requirements with a minimum of 3.0 GPA (or otherwise good academic standing)
• PG students that meet the CPT eligibility requirements with a minimum of 3.0 GPA. A lower GPA may be allowed for summer internship. Note that pre-requisite courses are required. Also, graduate students must submit any required iPOS changes in advance of the application
