Assam Science and Technology University Eligibility

Assam Science and Technology University BTech eligibility requires students to pass Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Students must have secured a minimum aggregate of 45% from a recognised board. Additionally, the selection is done on the basis of entrance exam scores. Students need to provide valid score obtained in either national or state-level test, such a JEE Main, JEE Advanced, Assam CEE to be eligible for admission.

To be eligible for a B.Tech programme at Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), candidates generally need to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination. For general category candidates, this is 45%, while reserved category candidates may have a 40% requirement. Additionally, the subjects Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry must be passed individually in theory and practical exams. 

The applicants need to pass the higher secondary education (12 grades) with a minimum percentage of marks, i.e., 45 marks (40 for reserved categories) in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to get admission in B.Tech programs of Assam Science and Technology University.

The aspiring candidates are also required to have a qualifying Combined Entrance Examination-C.E.E. conducted by the Assam government or any other recognised national entrance exams like JEE Main. Final selection depends upon their performance in the entrance examination and the stipulated eligibility condition.

Eligibility for UG courses is 10 + 2 passed and the same for PG courses is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Selection for B.Tech and M.Tech is done on the basis of the entrance exam (Assam CEE and GATE respectively) whereas, for all other courses, admission is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examination.
