In India only few universities offer undergraduate courses in Astronomy. Most students start with a BSc in Physics and specialize in Astronomy at the postgraduate level. Some institutes offer integrated programs for Astronomy. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram – BTech in Space Science and Technology
Osmania University, Hyderabad – BSc in Astronomy
St. Xavier's College, Mumbai – BSc in Astrophysics
Pursue BSc Physics or Mathematics, then specialize in Astronomy through MSc or research programs at institutions like IISc, IUCAA, or IIA for stronger foundation.

BSc in Astronomy admissions in India are mojorly based on Class 12 score. There is no specific entrance exam conducted for this course. However, some colleges may conduct their university-level exams.
