No, the most popular test that Aviation accepts in Chennai is CBSE 12th, meaning most colleges just require good Class 12 marks for admission. But a few do have their own selection criteria. Fighter Wings Aviation Academy does its own admission and screening through aptitude test, personal interview and group discussion test. Students seeking a degree-level programme at a University also need JEE Main or University-level marks.

The process is more flexible than most students expect. For most BBA and BSc Aviation programs, admission is based on Class 12 marks or through entrance exams like KCET. Some colleges conduct their own entrance tests, while many offer direct merit-based admissions. For MBA programs in Aviation Management, students may need to appear for national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, or XAT. Pilot training institutes have their own selection process, which may include medical fitness tests and aptitude assessments.

Yes, Bangalore has some dedicated pilot training institutes for this. Fly By Aviation has gained many accolades for its pilot training programs and has also provided excellent placement to pilot trainees. Pilot training constitutes a highly specialised and costly programme and in most countries a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) demands a minimum of 200 flying hours.
