Yes, in India, Acupuncture courses are generally considered a part of the broader category of alternative medicine practices, which falls under the AYUSH (Ayurveda, Naturopathy & Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) system. 

While Acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is distinct from the traditional AYUSH systems, it is often included within the scope of alternative therapies promoted by AYUSH.

UP AYUSH counselling is being conducted for undergraduate courses in Ayurveda, Siddha, Homeopathy and Unani for the allotment of 85% of State quota seats in government, state universities, and private colleges in Uttar Pradesh state. Applicants who qualified NEET exam will be further eligible to participate in the UP AYUSH counselling process for these courses.

AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) revised dates for Ayush NEET 2025 counselling stray vacancy round.  Registration for stray vacancy round counselling began on November 3, 2025. Deadline for registration and choice filling was November 5, 2025. Seat allotment result for Ayush NEET 2025 stray vacncy round counselling was announced on November 8, 2025.

The official website for AYUSH NEET counselling 2025 is aaccc.gov.in. Candidates will have to register and submit application form to participate in Ayush counselling 2025. Dates and schedule for counselling will be released by AACCC.

Pondicherry University offers admission to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) at the UG level through AYSH scores followed by the counselling. As per cutoff 2023, the Round 1 closing rank for BAMS stood at 60315 for General category All India students, 70478 for OBC category, 185228 for SC category and 91776 for EWS category. Candidates seeking admission to the mentioned must have a valid score AYUSH. Hence, in order to be eligible for further rounds, candidates must score the minimum marks as mentioned above.
