If you are in the final year of your Bachelor's programme or already have a Bachelor's degree, or have professional working experience that totals up to 4 years. Below is the CFA eligibility criteria course in India.
Get four years of qualified investment work experience.
Become a regular member of CFA Institute.
Pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
Apply for membership to a local CFA member society, and
complete the CFA programme.
To complete the CFA programme:
Meet the CFA programme entrance requirements and enrol in the programme.
Complete the course of study and pass the three levels of the exam.
Become a regular member of CFA Institute (required to receive your charter).
CFA exam eligibility:
1) Have a Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree
or be in the final year of your Bachelor's degree programme at the time of registration or have four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related)
or have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least four years. Part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment.
2) Have a valid international travel passport (required for enrollment and exam registration)
3) Candidates with a degree in progress: If you initially enrol/register as a final year undergraduate student with a degree in progress, you may not register for the Level II exam until you have earned your degree, or obtained professional work experience that meets the programs entrance requirements. When your degree is awarded, update your account education information to certify that your degree has been received.

First of all, take a mock. No matter how poorly you perform in it at-least you will get to know where you stand before starting your preparation, which are the areas you need to focus on. There are 3 sections in CAT VA-RC, DI-LR and quants.
VA-RC: The only way to score well in this section is to read various topics. It does not test your vocabulary but your understanding of the written text. You must be able to read and understand anything and everything. Please avoid comfortable topics. You can start with editorials of any newspaper.
DI-LR: There is no other way but practice. Practice and practice and don't lose your cool of head if you are unable to understand the set. Don't stop, just proceed.
Quants- Clear your concepts because questions are comparatively easy. You can try Dinesh Miglani Tutorials, it is very helpful.
