Admission to BDes at NIFT Chennai is solely entrance-based. Candidate have to fill the online application form of The National Institute of Technology (NIFT). The NIFT 2024 application fee for the OPEN category is INR 3,000. However, SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay only INR 1,500. Once the application form is filled, candidates have to submit the form along with the application fee.

Admisison to BDes is subject to a valid score in the UCEED. Followed by the UCEED exam, the institute releases merit lists with the names of the shortlisted candidates.
