Bachelor of Library Science is a 1-year duration course which can be pursued by students after completing graduation from a recognised university of India. B.Lib.Sc. course requires students to at least secure 50% marks in graduation in any field.
The admission to B.Lib.Sc. courses are based on both merit and entrance exams. The eligibility criteria might vary for different colleges in India.
Students who are in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Library Science degree.

Each institution or university has a unique set of requirements that applicants must meet in order to be considered. The key requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLibSc) programme are:
- Graduation from a recognised university
- They must have scored at least 50–55 percent overall average in their Bachelor's degree
- Performed well in entrance tests like SAT, JMI Entrance Exam, IIMC Entrance Exam, JNUEE, AMU Entrance Exam, etc.
