CAT (Common Admission Test) is a management entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (Iims) for admission to their MBA and other management programs. While it is true that most of the management programs require a professional degree, it is not mandatory for all programs. Some institutes also offer management programs to graduates from any discipline. To apply for CAT you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply. So, as a B.Sc. Student, you are eligible to apply for CAT as long as you meet the above-mentioned criteria. However, you need to keep in mind that the competition is tough, and you need to prepare well for the exam to get a good score and secure admission to a reputed B-School. IISERs offer admission into courses leading to BSMS Dual Degree, and BS Degree (only at IISER Bhopal) Programs. Admissions are via IAT Channel, KVPY Channel and JEE Advanced Channel. Have to appear for a National Entrance Screening Test NEST that is conducted at a large number of centres in India. NEST is a common screening test for both CEBS and sister organisation, NISER, Bhubaneswar. Selected students are called for counseling and admission to CEBS.
