The duration of a BSc Optometry course is typically 4 years. This includes three years of academic study and one year of compulsory internship, which provides hands-on training in hospitals, clinics, or eye-care centers.
The academic phase focuses on building theoretical knowledge in visual sciences, optics, and ocular health, while the internship ensures real-world exposure. This structure helps students develop both strong technical skills and practical competence before entering the profession.

The salary after completing a BSc Optometry depends on the job role, location, and type of employer. Fresh graduates working in hospitals, eye clinics, or optical retail stores can expect an average starting salary between INR 2.5–4.5 LPA.
With experience and advanced skills, professionals may earn higher salaries, especially in corporate hospitals, diagnostic centers, and specialised clinics. Those pursuing higher studies or research can further enhance their earning potential.

The course prepares students to work as optometrists, assisting ophthalmologists, prescribing corrective lenses, and detecting eye diseases early. With growing eye-care needs, it offers strong career opportunities in hospitals, clinics, and optical industries.

You can surely get admission to the BSc Actuarial Science course without giving any entrance exam. There are a decent number of colleges that give admission to the course on the basis of Class 12 merit and may take extra rounds like the GD/PI to assess your abilities.
A few colleges include Mumbai University, Bishop Heber College, North Maharashtra University, and Maharishi University of Information Technology (Noida). It is better to always go to the college websites to confirm their admission requirements that are revised every year.

Yes, but only a few universities allow direct admission from a BSc in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields. The majority of M Pharmacy courses require a B Pharm degree as the primary eligibility.
However, if you have a strong Science background, you may qualify for related master's programs like M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Biotechnology. These can later open pathways to research or drug development careers.
