The candidate must have earned a 10+2 Diploma and a three-year GNM (General Nursing Midwifery) Diploma. The candidate should have two years of professional experience. Male nurses who have not obtained a GNM Diploma are required to take a 6- to 9-month course that has been approved by INC in place of midwifery. The candidate must have received at least 50% in each course. The test should be passed on the first try. Or The candidate must have earned a 10th-grade Diploma and a three-year Diploma in general nursing and midwifery. The ideal candidate will have five years of professional experience.

The AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing entrance exam consists of a 2-hour long computer-based test. The test comprises multiple-choice questions from four subjects: Physics Chemistry Biology (Botany and Zoology and General Knowledge. The distribution of questions and marks is as follows:
Physics: 30 questions for 30 marks
Chemistry: 30 questions for 30 marks
Biology (Botany and Zoology 30 questions for 30 marks
General Knowledge: 10 questions for 10 marks
The total number of questions in the exam is 100 and the total marks are 100. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer.
