No, a gap year after 12th will not affect your admission at private BTech colleges in Coimbatore at all. Most popular private colleges like PSG, Amrita, Kumaraguru, SNS, and Karpagam do not have any rule against students who took a gap year. They only look at your 12th marks and your TNEA or JEE score — not the year you passed your board exams.

Students who want to enroll at Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) for B.E./B.Tech must perform the following steps:
Students need to confirm their qualification standards as they must complete 10+2 education with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
Students can enroll through TNEA Counseling or use the management quota application method.
The completed form needs to be submitted with necessary documents that include 10th and 12th mark sheets along with a transfer certificate and two photographs.

To be eligible for a four-year BTech at Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Society of Computer Technology and Research, the candidate must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% in a relevant stream from any recognised board. Eligible candidates will have to appear for the JEE Mains or the MHT CET exam and score valid marks to secure admission to the course. OBC candidates receive a 5% relaxation while admission for SC/ST candidates comes with a 10% benefit. Eligible candidates will have to appear for the TNEA counseling process and score a valid rank to secure admission to the course.

The educational requirement for admission is grades 11 and 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Math and minimum 50% overall score. Yes, candidates can defenitely join Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore without JEE Mains for BTech course. E nrollment in the institute's BTech programme is contingent on successfully completing the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE).

The cut-off ranks of SKCET (Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology) Coimbatore for B.Tech admissions 2024 differ in relation to the course. For instance, the cutoff rank for B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for Round 1 was around 7942, while for BE Computer Science and Engineering it was 8226. Other courses such as civil and mechanical engineering showed much higher cutoff ranks as civil reached the 23912 mark in Round 1. These cutoffs are based on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) and are subject to change every year based on demand and several other factors.
