You can join most makeup artist courses after completing your Class 10 or Class 12. There is no specific eligibility criteria to become a professional makeup artist. One needs to have pursued a Diploma or a crash course in makeup artistry in India. While renowned institutions/colleges like the JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, offers a month-long Diploma course each in makeup artistry and hair styling, there are plenty of other institutions in various cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and Bangalore where celebrity makeup artists offer crash courses that are at least two-week long.
