Biotechnology and M.Sc+Ph.D dual degree in Biotechnology, candidates must have passed mathematics at the (10+2) level. Bachelor's degree with Chemistry for three years or six semesters and Mathematics at the (10+2) level. Bachelor's degree with Mathematics for at least two years or four semesters.

There is a good chance that you will get biotechnology in the first round of counselling itself. If you miss it by a small margin you can try for the second round as well.

You can't enter the top most government college like NIT, IIIT, IIT unless you get good mark in JEE Main mark if you wish to join private college then you don't need to write JEE EXAM.

Hello SS Roy, Yes indeed. Biotechnology has a great future in India. Indian government is on a mission to double the income of farmers. This can be achieved only by enhancing farm productivity. This in turn can be done only by extensive application of biotechnology. In addition to this, many farmers are moving away from traditional farming techniques to tech intensive methods. It all depends on you. Chemical engineering involves designing reactors for various chemical reactions and it has also a major role in energy production. There are various main fields in chemical engineering.
Petroleum Processing
Pharmaceutical Science
Energy Storage
Energy production
Simulation of various reactions and reactors
If you have interest in any of these things, chemical engineering will be better. Biotechnology involves studies related to living organisms, etc. It involves testing new medicines in animals, gene and DNA studies, etc. Biotech is more of Science rather than engineering.
