Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme at BIT Mesra's Lalpur extension must have a valid CAT, XAT, or CMAT score. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with at least 50% grades (45% for SC/ST) from a recognised university. The selection procedure begins with an admission exam shortlisting, followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates must complete the online application form on the BIT Mesra website and pay the application fee. The final selection is based on the entrance exam score, GD, PI performance, and academic record.

Aspirants can apply if they match the course-specific qualifying conditions. BIT Mesra selects applicants based on their performance in approved admission tests such as CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT. Shortlisted candidates are also expected to participate in the group discussion and personal interview rounds. Following the completion of the selection rounds, the seat allocation procedure is carried out. Candidates are admitted based on their performance in the selection rounds, available seats, and their category.

There are internship programs at BIT Mesra. The highest stipend offered during BIT Mesra internships in 2025 was INR 1.5 lakh per month. The median stipend received during 6-month and 2-month internships was INR 30,000 and INR 60,000 per month. For 2026, the salary details are yet to be released.
