Bihar Board 10th exams are held for a total of six subjects. However, the total marks in the BSEB 10th exam are 500 for cumpulsory papers and 100 for English. Passing in English subject is not compulsory in the BSEB 10th exam. Hence, the result is prepared for the 500 marks only. Each paper of the exam consists of 100 marks. On the other hand, in some papers, theory exams are held for a total of 70/80 marks.

To pass the BSEB Matric exam, students must score a minimum of 30% marks in each subject. On the other hand, the students should also score a minimum of 30% aggregate marks to pass the exam.
